Title: Howdy Folks!
Post by: Sindawe^3 on January 28, 2021, 08:21:55 PM
Back again after loss of a stable OS in high summer past and loss of my old accounts PW, along with the linked email account. Such is life.

I did a quick review of the site, did not see this noted yet.  So I'm posting it here.  Text of H.R. 127 has been posted.  It's bad.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/127

In a nutshell

1) Registration of all firearms with database being accessable by law enforcement, military, any govt. agency, and the general public.
2) Federal license to own or purchase a firearm.
A) Mandatory training to own and purchase.
B) Mandatory psychological exam to own and purchase a firearm.
C) Mandatory purchase of insurance to own a firearm.
3) Licensing fee of $800
4) Illegal (not NFA) to own a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds.
5) Description on what constitutes military style weapons.

Looks like it’s Sheila Jackson Lee’s normal bullshit. Call me when it
starts moving anywhere.

The EO's have pissed people off on all sides. Trying this should be fun.

You forgot this part:

Quote
The Attorney General shall make the contents of the database accessible to all members of the public, all Federal, State, and local law enforcement authorities, all branches of the United States Armed Forces, and all State and local governments, as defined by the Bureau.

Oh, also:

Quote
(1) IN GENERAL.—The Attorney General shall issue to any person who has applied for a license pursuant to subsection (c) and has paid to the Attorney General the fee specified in paragraph (2) of this subsection a policy that insures the person against liability for losses and damages resulting from the use of any firearm by the person during the 1-year period that begins with the date the policy is issued.

“(2) FEE.—The fee specified in this paragraph is $800.”.

Edit: I guess you did mention these two things in the OP. I just got hopping mad reading them at the bill link.

No worries Ben.  Reading the bilge in this bill was an infuriating end to an infuriating day for me.
