Just got a breathless message from our erstwhile Gov. Blackface Moonwalker inviting me to attend (virtually, of course) his signing of the bill that abolishes the death penalty in Virginia.

Talks about how it's been applied as a tool of racial oppression in the past...

OK, not disputing that.

But how about trying to fix the problems with how its applied instead of abolishing the most appropriate punishment for those who commit the most heinous crimes?

Of course, gun control has a LONG history of racist applications, but that's OK... full steam ahead with more gun control!

IMO, it would be much smarter to regulate when the death penalty could be used. 

But yeah, there are probably all sorts of issues with the legal system they could attempt to work on, but that would be hard.
