When you get your left hip replaced on Monday morning, it smarts a bit thereafter.

If the left hurts so much maybe you should have had the right one done.  ;)

My right hip was replaced on a Wednesday, I can attest that Wednesday replacements hurt like hell the next day too.

What procedure did you get, anterior or posterior?

You put your left hip in, you take your left hip out ...

We put our hands in your wallet and we take the money out...

She wasn't hip to the idea?

A former landlord of mine, at about 72 years old, had a hip replacement.  The hospital hand him up and walking the same day.  Amazing stuff.

My dad spent a couple months at his friends place because of infection after hip replacement. They pulled the new one out and he had no way to walk.

Hope it goes better for you.

Mine was done early morning, they came to get for PT before suppertime.  If I hadn't been puking my guts out I'd have been up less than  hours after.

I had my right hip replaced in September of 2019. Afternoon operation, so the plan was that I'd stay overnight and go home the next day.

Didn't happen. I think I was in the hospital for four nights before I was able to go home. In home physical therapy twice a week for (IIRC) eight weeks. It took the better part of a year before I was anywhere close to 100 percent -- 90 percent is really about all I managed to achieve, I'd say.

The doctor claims it took that long because I waited too long to have it done. Hmmm ...

A friend got knee replacement surgery about a month ago.  He is walking around pretty good now.  I doubt he is fully healed up just yet.

What procedure did you get, anterior or posterior?

Due to having to remove the fixation hardware from the femoral neck fracture in 1997, the surgeon has to go with a posterior approach.
