"Facebook’s behavior isn’t just anti-competitive; it’s anti-consumer. "

Yeah, I'd say this is my shocked face, but I'm too shocked...

The users are not the consumer.  They are the product, as we have talked about before.   =)

That browser tool sounds good.  I don't see how Facebook can prevent him from distributing it outside Facebook, but they have a bunch of lawyers to go after him even if not legitimately.

Or even better just stay off Borgbook and do something production with your life instead.

Looks like the UK's loser pays model for lawsuits had a hand in that:

Quote
I’m a U.K. resident, so a lawsuit against Facebook would probably have played out in a U.K. court, where I would have been personally on the hook for Facebook’s litigation costs if I lost.

Facebook's legal defense would likely have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and they'd have a perverse incentive to run up the bill as high as possible.

The power of Big Money.  Not only in this matter, but others.

Seems to me, not being a developer, that the logic of the software should be universal and that other competent developers could write up the same kind of software for themselves.

Trouble is, I expect Effbook would detect same and exact punishment and heartache anyhow.

So the dealer shuffled the cards, eh?

Another one of those "you can't win for losing" situations, so you just play the game.
