Title: Hertz: Let's Go [- Brandon?]
Post by: Perd Hapley on January 09, 2022, 05:10:39 PM
I've been wondering about this when Hertz commercials come on, and DuckDuck brings this up when I search for it.

YouTube videos of the Let's Go ads only seem to go back to a couple of months ago. Makes me wonder if it's a nod to LGB - if ad companies really move that fast.

I'm sure an ad company can move fast, but in this case I think Hertz had planned this slogan long before LGB became a thing.

That seems likely. Still, the slogan was already well-known before the ads came out, but they went ahead with it.

Any press is good press?

With Hertz it's more like "Let's Go... to jail".

While Hertz is certainly to blame in these cases, the police are guilty, too.  Just a basic investigation would show that the vehicle possessor has a valid contract... which is why I always carry the contract in the rental car.
