Title: Videos of early living human embryos in the womb
Post by: Pb on May 09, 2022, 12:18:45 PM
I stumbled on this youtube channel this morning.  It is very interesting- I had never see color video of healthy human embryos so early in development (seven weeks)!

The embryos are clearly very tiny, living human beings.  This should be an a useful resource for anyone considering the morality of abortion.

At the website you can download a more complete video- it is very interesting:

If I remember correctly, the average abortion takes place around 8 weeks of gestation.

While such videos are helpful in educating ignorant, ideologues won’t be swayed.  Truth is (and this pretty well established scientifically, not my personal opinion) that life begins at the moment of fertilization.  At that moment a unique human being is created.  The only question then is at what point does that unique human being enjoy the protection of its rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

On the pro-life side the answer is obvious.  That point coincides with fertilization.

On the pro-abortion (or choice if you prefer) side the answer is far less obvious and relies on either arbitrary points (eg some number of weeks gestation, heartbeat, etc.), moving targets like “viability”, or some abstract indeterminate concept like “ensoulment” or quickening, or what have you.  Assuming that the pro-abortion person even has a standard as some are ok with abortion up to the moment of crowning, and some (eg former VA governor Northam) even after full delivery.

You are right ideologues won't care, but....You don't have to convert the ideologues to make a big difference.  They are a minority.  The undecided or "mushy" folks may be effected by these videos.

One of the things that gets me are those who profess to be Christians who are pro abortion.  I guess the conclusion I have come to regarding that is that they are really not Christians at all, but merely church goers.
