First off, 14 shot in Philadelphia last night
Sounds like it could have been a lot worse if a police office hadn't been right there.
Police Inspector D.F. Pace says police who were on patrol nearby responded ot the sound of gunfire and observed multiple gunmen firing into a crowd.
Inspector Pace said during a news conference that an officer shot at a suspect. It is unclear if the suspect was hit, but Pace says the suspect appeared to stop firing and dropped his firearm after he came under fire.
The weapon he dropped was equipped with an extended magazine, according to police.

I don’t think these qualify as “Mass Shootings” according to the normal definition of one shooter and mass casualties. Different type of perp and dynamic. They should not be conflated. Your point is correct in that they are sort of ignored, but they are sometimes used in the same statistic stats to inflate the number of so called “Mass Shootings” to get laws passed on fear at the same time they often ignored as they are more indicative of gang violence.

How many articles have we read following mass shootings that said, "The shooter was known to authorities"? Maybe instead of persecuting law-abiding gun owners the "authorities" should do something about taking the KNOWN nutcases off the streets -- or at least making certain that THEY don't have guns. It's not like the evil guns kidnapped the shooter, dragged him into the club, and forced him to start killing people.

Police have refused to comment on the gunman's identity beyond confirming his nationality, ethnicity and age in accordance with Danish privacy laws, but there are suspicions the perpetrator recently posted multiple videos on YouTube entitled 'I don't care' in which he held firearms to his head.

I'm no longer amazed that the legacy media "spikes" stories like these from other countries because they don't fit the "it only happens here" narrative.
And something to consider: how many other stories - including those unrelated to guns - does the legacy media spike, twist or distort?
And they react with outrage bordering on apoplexy when surveys and interviews show a majority of the public doesn't trust or believe them.

If the media spiked all mass murder stories, there probably would not be so many of these types of killings.
