Calling "The AK Guy"
-
Doesn't look like any AK top cover I've ever seen before.
-
Looks like any standard AKM underfolder with some bits added and some removed. Note no rear sight and solid front sight post.
Rear of the receiver is rounded
-
"Movie" variant. It can be whatever the imagination desires. ;)

If they would have change the look of the magazine and disguised the barrel a bit more, it wouldn't look so much like an AK. At least they took off the safety and put some sort of bar across that area.
-
Best guess, Zastava M70 with the top handguard removed, exposing the fluted gas tube, and some doohickey on the dust cover.

Unless I'm missing it I don't see the reinforced trunnion area of the M70s

It's a screen shot from the new Star Wars series Andor. Star Wars has usually taken real firearms and added stuff to them to make them look like sci fi weapons. It's one of the things I like about the Star Wars films and shows.
To me, looks like one of the under-folders, with tge safety removed, front sight and cover dressed up, and the mag decorated.
I also like that a lot of snowflakes are upset because Star Wars had GUNZ!!!!

Safety is present and it appears to be the older style AKM safety and not the newer 103 type.
If I had to guess it's a Chinese type 56

Maybe they replaced the bolt & dust cover with some sort of battery/light unit to make some sort of ray gun special effects?
From the picture, it could even be some sort of toy/airsoft gun that's been tweaked by the props department.
