Greetings, etc.
« on: March 14, 2008, 12:19:53 PM »
Some, or maybe all, of you have probably been wondering who the uppity new guy is who's been horning in with posts without introducing himself. Just another fella out here livin' life the best I can, like y'all appear to be, I reckon is the answer.

I can't recall exactly where I got the link to here, maybe from Kim du Toit's or Lawdog's blog. I'm fairly sure it was one of them, though. I lurked and read a little before jumping in, and apologize for doing so without introducing myself first, I was enjoying the byplay so much I forgot my manners.

I'm a husband and father who came to be both relatively late in life, three children so far and there might be more in the future but "just not anytime soon" as my lovely wife, whom I call Miss Priss when online, has told me. I'm a veteran of the US Army (as I've posted about), a mechanized infantryman many moons ago who wanted to be an Airborne Ranger, but being a callow youth I didn't know how to work Uncle for the things I wanted and so got took by him and spent my enlistment as a track toad. Ah well, c'est la vie c'est la guerre, eh?

I note some fine senses of humor here, and some insightful posts. I hope I can add something worthwhile.

What pray tell are these "manners" you speak of, and why would we want them?

Aren't the ex-Army types supposed to go over to THR or someplace?  What're you doing here?

Just joshin' ya.  Welcome aboard!

You also forgot the ammo.  I will take two cases 5.56 and two cases of .45 ACP
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

UB:

Welcome.

So are you local to KdT?

No, I live in the Southern suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Kim's area of Texas is on my short list of places to move to, though, when I have it together enough to get my family away from the hellhole my hometown is becoming.

I don't have any firearms (yet) so I'd either have to throw them really hard at people, or build something from scratch. In that case, I'll have four cases of 9mm.
