digital vid cam help

got a jvc digital video cam.  what kinda software should i get to play with it? any hints and tips gratefully accepted. i did find out that 400 x  video zoom iis a lil blurry and a lot shaky

imovie is quite nice, i run the big gun Final Cut Pro

but you need a mac
