Obama is a economic populist of the same ilk that has ruined Central and South American nations again and agian. That goes for Pelosi and that vast majority of Dems as well. They have no real idea how economics works or how markets operate. They don't see the failings of their theories as failures of the idea, just the failure to implement it properly or enough.
The whole idea of "equalizing incomes" is one of the most harmful ideas in teh history of modern economics. The idea that no matter how hard you work, you can never profit from it, and no matter how hard someone slacks off, they will never be punished for it. The fact that there is a low end to strive against and a high end to strive for is the essance of the "American Dream".
