Park management and hunting becomes a political hot potato up in Washington State.

Hearing this Thursday on proposed WDFW, Parks merger

  Hunters and anglers will descend on Olympia Thursday afternoon when the Senate Natural Resources Committee holds a public hearing on proposed legislation to merge three state agencies including the Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW).

 This column discussed the proposal weeks ago here, offering a ten-point alternative solution to funding woes at the WDFW. The Senate version is SB 5669 and the House version is HB 1850.

Sam was a reasonably active member (more so then me) of THR.us.  He's posted there and on .org for a while.  In addition to talking about gun stuff he started posting links to Dave Workman's examiner page after .us staff asked Dave not to link to his sponsored site.  I might be off a little on the details, but that's basically it.

If I had to guess, GRM is not getting much traffic, so Sam is looking elsewhere for folks to talk to about guns and politics, which is still dicey on THR.  But he's a real poster and has talked quite a bit on .us.

I usually find Dave's column to be kinda so-so, with him stretching to make everything a gun-rights battle, so I confess I stopped reading the links unless the synopsis seems really interesting.

Dave Workman's stuff is often realted to what's happening in Washington State.  Codrea, like Sipsey Street Irregulars blogspot, it working on ATF's Operation Gunwalk where they, the ATF, are the ones taking weapons into Mexico.  I'll try and post info that's of wider interest and politically related.

On a fishing forum I'm on this is a big deal.  It's basically an attempt to drastically alter WDFW's mission in ways that are NOT desirable to recreational users of the outdoors, whether that's fishing, hunting, or anything else.

Cool then, indeed do come over more.

Drive-by's aren't so bad when it's pro-RKBA/pro-hunting. I just figured someone local who was invested in the issue and was spreading it wherever he could.  =)
