Nothing here about the earthquake?
« on: August 23, 2011, 05:41:39 PM »
Am I the only one on the east coast or what?
I'm in Vienna, VA, and my folks back in NC felt it.  I heard some of Philadelphia did as well.

Sunday it felt a little better, but it was quite irritated from me rubbing it.

Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin

I heard on the radio they were going to rename that fault line George Bush's Fault so they can continue to use that phrase in perpetuity.

I also heard the earthquake that hit near Washington D.C. has a 94% approval rating.  The other 6% said it fell short of expectations.

Put me in with the 6%.

Have they announced yet that entire east coast is a disaster area and that FEMA is about to do their usual bang up job?
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Your observational skills need improvement.
I can't be bothered to open and read threads...

I was about 100 miles away and felt it pretty strong.  Not teeth rattling, but it got everybodies attention.

in central NY we were eating lunch around 2ish.  everyone in friendlys kind of paused as they were trying to determine what was "odd".  we heard a dad tell his son "will you stop doing that!".  it was just enough that the hanging lights were moving.  also it was different in that it felt like a wave rather than shaking.  that was the strongest one i have felt, except for when i lived in CA.
