Your eyes are filled with hate, forty-one. That's good. Hate keeps a man alive. It gives him strength.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

That is all. *expletive deleted*ck you all, eat *expletive deleted*it, and die in a fire. I have considered writing here a long parting section dedicated to each poster, but I have decided, at length, against it. *expletive deleted*ck you all and Hail Satan.

I am Spartacus!!!
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

"Lotta people come in here without any clothes on?"
"No sir, it's unusual."
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

I wonder what was going through Custer's mind when he realized that he'd led his men into a slaughter?

Do you think Custer realized he'd run out of "luck?"  It's possible he was shot priot to such a realization being possible....
Plus, "losing" was not in his vocabulary.

That famous day in history the men of the 7th Cavalry went riding on.
And from the rear a voice was heard,
A brave young man with a trembling word rang loud and clear...
"It's good, though..."

Mine is from We were soldiers.  I think TG was asking questions RE: Custer

Yes I recognized the We Were Soldiers quote.  Lots of great lines in that movie.

My response to TommyGunn was snark.

An arrow?
Actually, Custer's body was found with one arrow in it but it wasn't a headwound.
He had one bullet wound in his chest and one in his temple which suggests a "finishing" shot probably by an Indian warrior.
Since there are a few ladies present I will not discuss the arrow wound.  :-X
