City Council of Burlington, VT. wants to ban semi-automatic rifles and "large" capacity magazines.  So the local Fish and Gun Club, tells the city and Police to shove off and tells them that the police cannot train there.

I agree with the gun club. Individuals are welcome, but official police functions are unwelcome. Let them train somewhere else.

Actions of the gun club notwithstanding, if you read between the lines just a bit, if Burlington's elite want their special rules to be implemented they will have to have current Vermont state law amended.

They've tried this crap before (concealed carry) and been swatted down; current state law prevents local preemptions.
