NSA data center has unfortunate "accident"

Darn shame, really. Electrical problems can be so... finicky. Well, beers for some certain electrical engineers here in PA. You know, to ease their sorrow and not in celebration of a job well done.

That's a very... interesting... and enheartening... thing to hear nowadays.  Good to hear that the contracted engineers are not rending garments and gnashing teeth over the affair.

I would say that a fire that burns down the entire building is a "Permanent Fix".

It breaks my heart that this happened.   >:D >:D

Isn't this typical of gummint at work?

Quote
A report by ACE in the Wall Street Journal said the government has incomplete information about the design of the electrical system that could pose new problems if settings need to change on circuit breakers. The report also said regular quality controls in design and construction were bypassed in an effort to "fast track" the project.

Translation: The .gov was so anxious to start spying on us that they couldn't even wait long enough to vette the design of the electrical system.

Brilliant.

Something about that whole lowest bidder thing comes to mind.

Maybe they should have designed it to handle 1.21 gigawatts.  If a DeLoran can take it, so should their building.

This story makes me happy.

Also remember the NSA and DISA's "solution" to whistleblowers is to fire most of their system admins.

I envision massively awesome IT implosions, and it will be GLORIOUS to behold
