I paid $1.25 yesterday.  Normal price was $1.67 but QT has a promotion with a local grocery chain to earn points for money spent at that store.  Helps that our daughter is an employee at the grocery store so we not only get her 10% discount, we save on gas.

Dropped to $1.99 at a station near Castle Key's house, and also $1.99 at the station down the street from me.

Within a day or two at least two of the three other stations near Castle Key will be at $1.99. The Shell station is always a couple of pennies more, but they have the gas rewards program with Giant food in the area, so I'm sure people are paying a lot less.

I'd get my gas there, but when I'm going through in the correct direction it's always way too early for it to be open.

Haven't seen what it is right now but the place I paid $1.25 for is in a price war with the Murphy/Wal-Mart across the street.  This morning it was $1.64.

As long as people identify it as being a special price, there's no issue with them posting (gloating?) the actual price that they paid.

I have a work provided car with my new job and I can get tax free fuel for it since I work for the state gov. Well I can't get it tax free everywhere but we have a few fuel depots throughout the state and the one near the capital posts the price on the pump. E-10 was 1.395 and E-85 was 1.279.

It was 1.99 when I left NC last week. It's easy to find 1.79 here in Dover-New Philli Ohio.

A couple of years ago I would have bet we would never see gas below 2. Surprisingly, people here are not happy about it, since the oil money has been a large economic force for the past 5 years, and as oil prices fall, all the exploitation business is drying up.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.
