$2.29 for 87 with ethanol last night.  Lots of local gas taxes here...

I don't understand gasoline pricing at all.

The lowest price I've seen in the last week or ten days in my usual area of operations is $2.04, at a station that sells name-brand gas and is one of a regional chain of convenience stores. Today I went by another outlet of the same chain, about 15 miles north, and their price was $2.26.

Tuesday, I went to a meeting upstate, about 25 miles from home as the crow flies. Entering town from the west, I went by four or five stations that were all at $1.98. I stopped and filled up at one that's a regional brand name. On the other side of the same town, not more than three miles away, another station of the same brand was at $2.06.

Price went up a dime overnight here in Hickory.

Everything jumped 11 cents overnight to about $1.99.  I think the refineries are starting to shut down for seasonal maintenance.

I was in Pennsylvania this past weekend. Prices along the way ranged from $2.13 to $2.29 in Mom's town.

Yesterday I saw $1.99 at one station in Arlington, VA, in the afternoon. By the time I drove past again yesterday evening, the price had gone up 6 cents.

All of this is a response to the recent run up in oil prices caused by the panicky f*expletive deleted*tards stampeeding to buy oil when Saudi Arabia said "well, maybe a setting some controls would be a good thing..."

Of course, those buttmunches are totally ignoring Iran, which has repeatedly said "Go ahead, you infidel-loving pig mongers! Freeze your production and we'll waltz in and take over your market share!"

And, now, all of a sudden there's some REALLY ominous supply news coming out of China, the peak gasoline/oil usage season in America ends in a few weeks, more American rigs are reopening, and all those monkey *expletive deleted*ers are going "OMG! I was a fool! Why don't these buildings have windows that open so I can leap to my shameful death?"

It's Iowa. Everything is made out of corn, and is heavily subsidized.

And, I have no clue what the hell has hit the markets, but OARP has, in the last 40 minutes, done a complete 180 from strongly down to strongly up.

Goddamn it.

Oh hell...

The Iranians are indicating that they may be willing to play ball with production output limits...

*expletive deleted*it. Prices are going to rocket through the close today.

I don't recall if we've brought it up before in this thread, but when people are posting prices for regular, are we assuming 87 octane unless someone specifically states 85? Until I take trips out of state, I always forget that you can get 85 as regular in a lot of places, and 87 is mid-grade in those states.

The Lesbaru is optimized for 87 octane.  I put 89 in once and lost about 6 MPG.  That was an expensive test.

Paid $2.02 in Waterman, IL last weekend after teaching Hunter Safety Ed.

87 with 10% ethanol is the gasoline I have been giving a price for. 87 sans the ethanol is about .30 more per gallon.

We used to have 87 sans E, 89 with 10% E and 90-92 with or without E. A few years ago, they said the 89 10E was too expensive to mix 87 + 10% E, so they went to 85 base and added 10% to bring it up to 87. 89, 90 and 92 octane went away, now we have 91 and it varies from station to station is it is pure gas or 10% E.
