It looks like this explosion might not have the legs that I thought it might.

Gasoline futures were up almost 20 cents in mid-day trading yesterday, but by afternoon had started falling and ended up with only a minimal gain.

This morning futures are down over two cents a gallon.

I paid $2.01 at a station near Mtnbkr's place yesterday.

At the station near my house it's still $2.15 (2.09 weekend price), and still in the $2.20s near Castlekey's house.

No spike here from the pipeline disruption.  Interesting.

Quite surprised, no spike here in Hickory, NC after the pipeline explosion.  It's supposed to be back online today.  Haven't seen any updates to confirm, though.

$2.159 last... Friday?  Up in MD on my way home from work, a Sunoco about a mile off the Beltway on 29.  It's usually higher there than at home in Fairfax, but has been at or below Fairfax prices that I've seen for a week or two now.

Filled up the company car for $1.80 a gallon overnight.

Dropping again here.  $1.99 yesterday at our two usual stations, down from $2.03.

OARP has been dropping since the election. Apparently even bets right now that the Saudi brokered production deal is going to fail and crude is going to go back below $40 a barrel.

Interesting station near my office in the Springfield/Newington area of Virginia. At night, the price for gasoline goes up 10 cents, and is currently $2.49 a gallon. When I pass it on my way home in the afternoon, it's $2.39 a gallon.

Saudi's are probably trying to figure out how to get their $25M back that they backed Hillary with.

$2.25 at my local Valero (high quality regional place) right now. I'm quite surprised that a CA gas price is comparable to what some of you from other states are posting. In general, we always seem to be 20-30 cents higher than the next highest state. In fact looking at gasbuddy, I'm even seeing Chevron and Shell prices about fifty miles East of me down to $2.10.

Boy have I seen a HUGE variance in prices in Northern Virginia the last couple of days....

Right now the Citgo near my house is $2.07.

The Sunoco, Shell, Libery, and BP near CastleKey's house are in the $2.11-$2.15 range.

The Exxon I've mentioned a number of times, the one near where I shop, is at $2.59.

But the winner of the "Are you out of your *expletive deleted*ing mind" price is the Exxon station on Dolly Madison Boulevard in McLean, Virginia, near the entrance to the CIA campus and the George Washington Parkway. It's the only station for several miles, so they think the have a captive audience, I guess...

They want $3.19 a gallon for regular unleaded, and $3.69 a gallon for premium. Those are both, by far, the highest prices in the entire Commonwealth. My guess is that they have the concession to fuel the CIA fleet, so they are taking advantage of it.
