$2.19 at Pilot in Carol Stream, IL  ($2.11 net after discounts).  I got a report from Gas Buddy that says by using their card, I saved $20 this year.  That's ~10 gallons of free gas.  All for doing more then swiping a card.

Nice.

The station near my house is now down to $2.43. Still WAY too damned expensive. I'm thinking it's a case of "rich county/town" pricing.

The Exxon near where I do my grocery shopping, which is the only station on that strip for several miles in either direction, is still sitting at $2.99 a gallon.

According to GasBuddy the lowest gas prices in Virginia is $1.77 a gallon and the average is $2.22. That's for regular.

In the last two trading days WTI, the US benchmark for crude oil, has shed almost $6 a barrel and at the moment is trading at $46.17, its lowest in a year.
Gasoline and heating oil futures are following the price of oil and both are also at near lows for the past year.

And, there's really nothing on the horizon to really turn it around.

The guy in this video is talking about a hold point that's almost $1 in the rearview mirror, so I'm not sure that we've seen the bottom of this. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-12-18/oil-dives-lower-as-surging-u-s-output-overshadows-opec-curbs

We're at $2.11-$2.13 at our usual go-to stations.  The two stations in Newton are still having their price war, but their prices have held steady at $1.98 for the last week.

Holy hell. $4.13 driving through Kettleman City, CA this morning (no, I did not get gas). Still $2.99 at home. I'm in Santa Barbara today where it's $3.60.

Another joy of California -- the mandate that only gasoline refined in California can be sold in California. Add in California's gasoline cleanliness standards, taxes, and some charges that no one can can really explain (https://www.mercurynews.com/2017/11/01/why-are-gas-prices-so-high-in-california/) and you have the highest gasoline prices in the contiguous United States...

But what's the response? BLAME EVIL OIL COMPANIES!

What was $2.03 at the three stations late last week, and Monday of this week is now $2.35 the weekend before the Christmas travel holiday...

Citgo near my house has dropped 15 cents in the past 2 weeks, most of that in the last 3 days. Now down to $2.35.

Going to be interesting to see what it is where I'm heading for Christmas...

Actually, Gas Buddy says that at least one station in that area has dropped below $2 a gallon, and several others are at the bitter edge.

Last week regular at my go-to station was $2.519. Early this week it was $2.579. Yesterday it was back to $2.519 ... and I drove by a recently re-branded no-name station in an area of town I rarely go through that was at $2.499 yesterday.

Just paid $2.06 at my usual go-to station on the way home from work.  Down from $2.11 in last few days.

Just spent the past week in central Coastal Virginia. Most of the stations were in the mid to high $1.90s, but a few were still over $2 a gallon.

Best price I saw on my drive home was $1.86.

Now that I'm back home in DC metro the Citgo near my house is $2.25.

Joy.

New station opened in the area just before Christmas.  They have been selling gas really cheap, all the way down to $1.17, which started a bit of a price war in the immediate area.  In general, prices are a bit higher than that.  Paid $1.49 on the way to work this morning.  Last week at the in-laws in upstate New York, paid $2.89.
