It's going to be popping again, unfortunately. The price of oil is pushing higher.

There's a tremendous range of prices here, from one station to another. Like a 50 cents per gallon spread. Fortunately, the station with the lowest prices within 25 miles of me happens to be right on my way home. Last Wednesday the price bottomed out at $2.11. Friday it was up to $2.13. I'm sure tomorrow it'll be a few cents higher than that.

Up to $2.09 here in Tulsa this morning.

I drove a Nissan Altima from home in AL to Atlanta and back this weekend, about 600 miles round trip. One tank of gas, and it cost me $31.78. That's impressive.

I think it helped that I did 75 mph the whole way, instead of my usual 85-95-100 mph.

It's 2.099 at Costco; don't know if they will be going up too or pull the others down a little.

We paid $ 2.09 this morning to fill up the rental car in Tempe, Arizona.  When we got home this evening, it was $ 2.21 at Costco.

I haven't read through this entire thread, but have any of you heard about the oil refinery strikes going on?  I hadn't even realized it was happening until someone at work mentioned it.

Yep.  I think they shoudl fire them all and hire new non-union guys.  I'd bet there are more then enough smart, trainable people out there willing to work full time at what the union guys are currently making.

Oh, and as the "FunFact" of the day.  The reason they are on strike isn't wages, but the cost of Healthcare Insurance.  Seems their Gold-plated union policies have been "Grubered" and they are not happy about.

Looks like it's time to fill the tank. Double digit increases are predicted for most of the country over the next week. I checked Gasbuddy right after I watched the report, and they already went up 10 to 20 cents locally from yesterday, when I coincidentally happened to fill up (at $3.09).

a dime more on Sunday since the gas tax was just raised $0.10 by law earlier this week. Actually pushed by republicans (in state house and senate) and signed into law by longest serving governor in the US.

And what is that funding?  Do you support the increase?
