  • What if we tried more?

I'm sure she had no idea about what was happening in the multi-million dollar lawsuit her husband was involved with, and her nominating him for this spot had no quid pro quo involved.

If government is the answer, it must have been a really, really, really stupid question.

Sounds like grounds for appeal.

More like free bacon wrapped shrimp for the elites.  If they don't play ball, no more bacon wrapped shrimp.

Murphy maintained, however, that he remained unaware of any connection between the Hagans and the case.

“At no point was it brought to my attention that Sen. Hagan’s husband had an interest in the suit or that his law firm had an interest in the case,” Murphy testified.

Y'know, I could believe that if one of the parties was represented by "Earl's Discount Lawyerin' Service," but the name of the firm is "Hagan Davis Mangum Barrett & Langley."

(Don't get me started on the need for a Federal regulation limiting the number of names you can string together to 3, with no duplication.)

How about "Dewey, Cheetham and Howe".
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Samuel Adams
