Four dumb *expletive deleted*ck current employees at my college used their official school work account to sign up for the site, as did several students.

If you are too *expletive deleted*ing stupid to sign up for a hushmail/yahoo/gmail account to get your cheating and whoring on, you are too *expletive deleted*ing stupid to be allowed to live hold a clearance

Anyone seen any "famous" names popup from this?  I mean other then that Duggar kid.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

I recall hearing similar issues about Match, eHarmony and the like, and that a certain percentage of 'real' female profiles were from escorts looking for business.
I was thinking more about paid users doing flirts and other minor contacts to keep people interested in the site so they continue shelling out money.

I kid you not, that site had heavy advertising during at least one Super Bowl awhile back.

They have BILLBOARDS up in places.

IIRC, I saw one on a business trip driving through southern PA.  A friend found a photo of one somewhere in IA, I think it was.

Pretty sure I've seen one of the billboards. Don't recall where though

OK, I get going the low road and servicing the base desires of folks as a means to make money.  Sex, drugs, violence, etc. almost always sells to someone.

But how would this company make money if their product never or almost never resulted in hook ups?  Eventually, even the most desperate wanna-be adulterer is going to to stop mashing the mouse button.

Is it just a grand facade of baloney to pump up perceived value and then sell out to some nitwit with more millions than brains?

Turn over. Just like any other business with poor customer service, except that the users are never going to post negative reviews.

The Gizmodo article said that guys were paying money to buy a fantasy.  Probably not much different than shelling out money at a strip club, although at a club you at least get to look at something.

I saw that in the article as well.  I wonder how much the profile deletion fee was.

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

I read that. Turns out his wife was someone completely different when she was stepping out than who she ever had been at home.
