Good thread for me, we're closing on a house this month with almost an acre of lawn.  Gonna need a bigger mower.

I have a 1/2 acre and if I was to do it again I would get a zero turn with at least a 54" deck.

That's not in the budget.

I mow just short of a 1/2 acre and I can trim with a push mower and mow with a 38" deck lawn tractor in about an hour.

I have several elevation changes and a 48" sewer main to contend with.  =)

I got elevation changes and landscaping, plus a lake shore to mow.

I mowed my 3/4 acre, including the drainage easement that was thigh high grass and bushes, in a ticket over an hour this weekend. That includes string trimmer around the house and flower beds. The new Deere has a pretty tight turn radius so edging was minimal.
