Plum Sauce Recommendations?
« on: November 09, 2017, 03:49:07 PM »
So I totally blew it this year, and forgot to make and freeze plum sauce for the Tday bird while plums were in season. Does anyone have any recommendations for the store bought stuff? I saw a lot on Amazon, but it all seemed to be the Asian version with garlic and spices and stuff. I just make mine with plums and a little sugar, so am looking for something like that.

Plum jam?

My dad actually said that too. We got some plum butter with my last big German food order, and I was thinking of maybe cutting that with something to thin it a bit and see how that works.

Or buy canned plums and put the blender to work.

Plum jam with a shot of lemon juice, a bit of extra salt, and a dash of onion powder and thyme.

Can do the same for apricot jam. Makes a damn good glaze for pork loin.
