She and Bernie are announcing "A radical new plan" to stick it to banks and credit card companies later today. It will, "keep more coin in our pockets!"

AFAIK, ovulation is on average about 2 weeks before a period, and the fertility widow is only a couple days. So 2 plus 2 is now 6. Math is hard.

Bernie's on board with the USPS idea
Because banks are racist

Right.  Because why should people that have no means to pay down the loan be denied a loan?  That's discrimination!!!

So you're okay with the government interfering in free market economics, financials, and liberty?

I should have explained more fully.
I mean I agree that some credit card companies charge ridiculously obscene high interest rates and it's those rates often make it hard for people to climb out of a debt hole.  That's the surface of the idea I somewhat agree with but at the same time I am leary of govt control of anything like this thus the devil in the details.
The heart of the problem is far that too many people spend way beyond their means and they've made it far too easy these people to walk away from their debt while the rest of us pick up the tab.

Surface: The idea that maybe some interest rates may be too high
The details: There's a very good reason why some of these rates are so high

I don't have enough coffee in me yet to be clear

Indeed, which is why I'd rather have a free market solution (that doesn't involve people walking away from self-incurred debt). Credit card interest is very much supply and demand. If less people carried ginormous balances on their cards, the CC companies would lower interest rates to get more people to carry some debt.

Much like how auto companies offer 0% financing to sell their cars. If people would be standing in line to buy cars, they'd also be paying 10% financing. CC companies seem to have no shortage of people willing to pay 20% interest so they can just pay $25/mo on $10000 debt, or at least people who don't read their contracts regarding interest charges.

Check cashing places and pay loan people charge quite a bit also, but people still keep going back to those places.  No law will make up for people being foolish with their money.

A lot of people use those places because they don't trust banks, and/or banks don't offer short term (or long term) loans because of their lack of credit/ability to pay. The PayDay loan places fill then need of those people, and given their BK/default rates, is why they charge outrageous rates.

But when the car breaks and you need it to get to work to pay the rent/buy groceries, you need money to get it fixed.
