Yes, I think the guy was serious.

And, yes -- Biden's hand did pass in front of the microphone -- in both views. I think the guy who posted the video is correct -- it was a green screen failure, and the "interviews" were fake.

It looks wrong, but with the second perspective you can see the microphones moving around in a way that would make it actually work.

Those wind covers are huge, much larger than the microphones most of us are familiar with which makes them seem closer than they actually are and screws with perspective perception.

Video compression has a hard time with the fuzzy edges of the wind cover which makes it look even more fake than the sharp image of his hands.

Why on earth would Biden need to green-screen an interview with a friendly press?

Why wouldn't the friendly press cooperate with a setup like that so Biden can have a couple tries to get it right?

I'm not saying they wouldn't cooperate with that if he asked for it, but if the intent was to give him a few tries to get it right then why not just do it for real and give him another shot if he needs it? Why make him pull the act in front of a greenscreen instead of stepping outside and doing the exact same thing?

Also, if they were faking a carefully curated walk past reporters using green screens then they'd have made it look better, and done a better job with his responses.

At about the 1:45 mark in the op video, you can see where on the side view the gray microphone is in front of biden, but on the head on view, the mic appears to be behind his hand.

Also, those mics are useless if they're behind him. The would not be picking up his voice clearly if that were the case.

Something definitely looks hinky about it.
