A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.
Is defenestration possible through the overton window?

I keep hearing these stories but it is not happening here. Not sure what is going on.

I don’t know much about farming, but aren’t farm subsidies sometimes paid out to farmers to destroy crops in order to keep prices high?  I’ve heard people complaining about that for a long time.

Since my wife's bank revolves around farm income I will ask her tomorrow.

Not destroyed but the one raisin farmer had his crop seized by the raisin board to keep it from the market.

I remember- he got a big fine too- let's see if I can find the story:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horne_v._Department_of_Agriculture

Looks like I was not aware he won the case. He refused to keep handing over half his crop and was fined something like $700,000 and sued.

Supreme Court found it was an unconstitutional taking.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

I am not aware of the gov doing it currently.

I feel we don’t discuss the shady aspects of government interfering in agriculture enough in respect to government overreach.

Things I never knew about until I was today years old: one of the ways to dispose of surplus raisins from the National Raisin Reserve is to feed them to cattle.  I was unaware that cattle would eat raisins.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Samuel Adams
