BBQ Sauce

Hawkmoon:
I confess -- I actually like McDonald's barbecue sauce. I go to McD's only VERY rarely these days, but I buy frozen chicken nuggets at the supermarket and I'd like to mix up some sauce to go with them. I have heard that one can make a close replica of the McD's sauce by combining a couple of off-the-shelf brands.

Has anyone tried this? If, so, what are the brands to mix?

I'm looking for a BBQ sauce that's not overly hot or tangy; I don't coexist well with spicy foods.

I absolutely love Kraft's Hickory Smoke Barbecue Sauce. Cheap AF and seems to go well with any meat.

Famous Dave's Apricot Bourbon is my 2nd favorite. It does have a nice pepper bite to it, so you may not like that.

Kraft is good stuff, and Heinz has a lot of good sauces, as well.

It's crazy with all the specialty BBQ sauces one finds at the grocery, that the old cheap mass produced BBQ sauces are better tasting.

The standard by which I still judge everything is KC Masterpiece. Best bottled sauce I've ever had.
