Blue Cheese skinless brats
« on: April 02, 2021, 10:32:53 PM »
Finally getting warm enough where I don't freeze grilling out.

I got a meat locker I visit when I am in that town, they make regular and skinless brats for retail sale. They always keep a pack or 2 for me in the back freezer in case they sell out in the display case.

Skinless brats became a thing in Iowa 5-6 years ago, when a locker in Holstein, IA called Tiefenthaler's created them, think a really big breakfast skinless breakfast link. You put them on the grill frozen and grill until done. I still like regular pork intestine stuffed brats, but seems you can get different flavors in the skinless ones.

Man, another example of fine Midwest meat culture that we just don't have in the Pacific NW.
