High school volleyball coach and several administrators in Florida suspended for having allowed a trans "girl" to compete on the girls' volleyball team, despite a 2021 state law prohibiting same. The coach claims he (Alex -- he?) didn't know the student was trans. However, the student's parents had filed (and lost) a lawsuit objecting to the law, so it's a bit difficult to accept that the coach didn't know. It's far more difficult to accept that the school's administration didn't know -- yet they allowed the student to compete anyway.

Quote
The student’s parents declined, through Solomon, to speak with The Washington Post; she said they are taking time to care for their daughter. The student has not been publicly identified by the district. The Post does not identify people under 18 without their parents’ permission.

“This child’s life has been turned upside down,” said Solomon, a families support manager for the LGBTQ group Equality Florida. “And she didn’t hurt or harm anyone.”

And there's the crux of the issue. The child is a biological male, and objective experts seem to agree that even when taking hormones, biological males retain a physical advantage compared to true biological females. So, in essence, this "girl" harmed every real girl it competed against, by bringing an undisclosed physical advantage to the (volleyball) court. And what if this school's volleyball team is good? Do any colleges award scholarships to volleyball players? If so there's the possibility that this "girl" might get a scholarship that should go to a real girl.

These are the points that the trans advocates choose to sweep under the carpet and to not discuss.

Oops - sorry.

I had read that thread, too, but apparently the story didn't register in the memory banks.
