Formatting weirdness lately

These started a week or two ago.  When I double-space at the end of a paragraph, SMF changes it to a triple-space when I hit the Post button and I have to go back and edit.  Also when I paste text with Control-V it is often resized down impossibly small and I have to edit that to make it readable.

It is correct that you should be punished for committing the heinous sin of double spacing after a period.

You are in WYSIWYG mode.
In the post section there is a "Toggle View" button that looks like this:


Click on that to exit WYSIWYG mode and those problems will go away.

I just wish my machine would quit trying to guess what I want to highlight with my cursor.

Hey, I wanted to highight from where I held the button down to where I let it go.  Don't go "thinking" I must have wanted to highlight that whole word, mustn't I have?

And no I didn't want the whole paragraph highlighted.  Just like I said, from from where I held the button down to where I let it go, that's all. Got it?

It's on the far right when you are in Post reply (and I suppose new thread) mode.  Just below the "Change color" box.

It's there in the PREVIEW mode in mine,but not in the BBCode Quick Reply window.

If you click "Preview"  with a blank Quick Reply window, you get:

No matter, ignore, just type in or paste your stuff.

Yes, I concluded that was the issue with my not seeing the icon you showed.

But ... when I click that icon in preview mode, it doesn't add an extra blank line/space between paragraphs. In fact, I have no idea what it's supposed to do, because as far as I can see it doesn't do anything.

You might have Version 3.8A.940900982T378785 instead of Version 3.8A.940900982T378786.
