Five Minute Beignets
« on: May 02, 2021, 10:29:07 AM »
I have made beignets from scratch before and it is a bit of a process. I happen to have a can of Grands in the fridge right now. I might try these just for the halibut. I'm sure they won't compare to scratch, but five minutes sounds great.  =)

We used to make those occasionally when I was a kid.  Not Grands biscuits, but the small canned biscuits cut in half.  Probably the fluffy ones rather than flaky but I don't remember.  We just called them donuts, but they were more the size of a donut hole.  Too large and they won't get done in the middle

My scoutmaster taught us to make 'em into holy donuts... the flaky kind. Deep-fry, then throw in a paper bag full of sugar and cinnamon.
