On the face of it, those two statements seem unrelated.

I had never heard of the movie so I looked it up, which might put me on some lists as well. Looks like a good one, it's got R. Lee Ermey so it's probably worth the time just for that. Thanks for the tip.

They did that with Master and Commander also.  I looked for where it was available and found an entry for a rental and a free one.  Noticed the free one would expire within a week.
