I'm having a rather interesting Facebook "discussion" with several "blinded by my hatred for Trump" Biden apologists (including one from this very site) who are trying their very best to explain, pardon, and obfuscate their way around Biden's moves to absolutely gut the American petroleum industry, starting with killing the Keystone pipline (well none of that oil would have stayed in the United States!! --wrong), his clamping shut on leases and further exploration on Federal lands, and his plans to levy crushing punitive taxes on the US oil, gas, and coal industries.

But gas prices aren't high because of Biden's policies! They're high because of low supply! Every time Biden trots out another initiative aimed at the oil and gas industry international prices go up because of speculation. Think they understand that? No.

I've not even gotten into just how monumentally racist it is for the Biden administration to crush American production to protect our environment while asking people of color to rape their environment because our gas prices are high...

The administration is even doing this with raw materials for their "clean power" initiatives. They are restricting mining here while looking internationally for lithium, cobalt, etc. Most of those international materials are, of course, in "bipoc" countries. It's always about NIMBY "look how enlightened we are" optics, and who cares what it costs other countries or what it costs, in many ways, us, to do business with some of those countries.
