This is very tempting...
« on: July 22, 2021, 09:59:34 AM »

Bud's has gotten a large shipment of used 4" S&W Model 10s from Australia, apparently police trade ins.

Fair to poor exterior condition (LOTS of wear).

$300...

That is very, very tempting.

Would be fun to have an absolute beater to play with and turn into just a bash about gun.

Neat.  I picked up a foreign police trade in Taurus 38 years ago, for $99.  I kind of love it - it's nice to have a cheapie beater that I don't have to worry about dinging up.  =)

Wish I had bought a half dozen.

Or you could just try to catch one of these in stock.

If I could pay $300 out the door, those revolvers might be more interesting.  However, when I would have to pay shipping, taxes, and transfer on top of that, the price never seemed too attractive.  Sort of like a lot of the Glock police trade-ins a few years back.  Hard to keep the added costs down.

Uhm... What about that is a project gun?

What about that is a fun beater?

What about that is a revolver?

If I wanted another semi-auto I'd buy another semi-auto.

I wish I hadn’t seen this. I would pick one up if I wasn’t in trouble already with my CFO over a purchase made last week. A couple buyers commented that theirs came with no grips but I happen to have some K frame square butt grips. I would love to have another .38sp since I have thousands of cases and cast bullets and already assembled target reloads.
My model 66(no dash) has become valuable enough that I am no longer carrying it on my hip while on the tractor or cutting firewood etc.
What we have here is failure to communicate.

Looks like they also have a bunch of similar condition 3" Model 36 J frames for $399.

I've already got one, so I don't need another.

I had a really nice 2” model 10 bought and sold for about 400. I’m a dummy. Was going to carry it too much and ruin it so I sent it on.
