Thumbs Up for DeWalt Impact Wrench

I recently bought this DeWalt 3/8 air impact wrench:

I have to give it a thumbs up. It's light and compact, but still powerful. I ended up using it a bunch yesterday, and it's just an ergonomic pleasure to use and has a very responsive trigger. I obviously don't have input on longevity, and some people say they don't like the composite housing, but it sure feel solidly built to me.

It's probably too small for something like a tractor tire, but if one of my tractor rear tires gets a flat, I'm probably calling the mobile service anyway. For "around the shop" type stuff though, very handy.

I’ve been using composite body air wrenches in 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 my whole career and composite body die grinders. Nothing wrong with them at all and the lighter weight and insulation from cold air (particularly in the die grinders) is much appreciated. My 1/2” Aircat in particular is a *expletive deleted*ing beast.

I use one of our 3/8" house-brand battery impacts pretty much every day. And I encourage my minions to use it... With a 6-point socket, you can change the average battery in just a few minutes, without worrying about stripping stuff out, or having a hold-down nut that takes several minutes of ratcheting to get it off the rust. It takes out the Ford and Chevy crossmember brackets in seconds. We aren't supposed to change batteries in Ford trucks or Chevy Impalas, etc., but we do anyway, because we can have the offending blockages out of the way in almost no time.

Are those the idiot cars with the battery under the dashboard? We don't touch those, or the Transit Connects either.
 
And a bunch of Dodges are just flat out told to go find a mechanic. Not gonna jack it up and pull a wheel.

I've used that little impact on stuff it was never meant to deal with... When they kill it, I'll get the guys another one.
 
Actual conversation with a customer:
 
"Hey, the battery hold down bolt is down at the bottom, and it is rusted in with the help of some acid, and isn't budging. I broke my new ratchet. Is it under warranty."

The easy way is to just remove the windshield wipers, the brake fluid reservoir, and two layers of cowling. 

Some people prefer to take apart the air cleaner instead.
