Quote
Emily Thornberry, the Labour MP for Islington South and Finsbury, has said “It's factually inaccurate,” to say that only women have cervixes. Speaking on BBC Politics Live she said, “There are men who have cervixes. There are men who are trans[gender] and they're men."

Even if you're a big proponent of trans rights, it would seem at some point you would have to admit that it's handy to have a term for people who have cervixes.  For a couple thousand years people knew what the word woman meant.  Even if the you feel it's not inclusive enough, you have to acknowledge it's just a lot more convenient than saying "a human with a cervix".

I am reminded of the trans patient who called me all upset that the clinic was sending MyChart reminders of the need for periodic pap smears.  He still had a uterus and cervix, however, and I am pretty sure that cervical cancer does not care about your gender identification.

Revolt against the modern world, not because it is modern, but because it is evil.

:sigh:

I can still remember a time when words had meaning, and biological males who wore dresses were referred to as "transvestites." That worked then, and IMHO it still applies today. As someone expressed it, "If you've got a d**k you're not a chick."

The modern world is already revolting.
