Well, any new power tech is bound to have problems.  Even with steam we  had boiler explosions and fires until we learned to handle it.

Individual AA or AAA cells are cells.  Strung together, they form a battery.  The 9UV 9 volt battery is actually a battery, with 6 tiny internal cells of ~1.5 volts each connected together.

1.5 + 1.5 + 1.5 + 1.5 + 1.5 + 1.5 = 9

Battery and cell often get confused because of blurred and slurred usage.

Your 12 Volt car battery is actually 6 ~2 Volt cells hooked together.

Like energy and power are constantly confused.  Not the same thing.

Was out walking last night.  Saw, in somebody's driveway, a Chevy Bolt with charging cable attached.   Apparently they're apt to spontaneous combustion.  (https://www.nhtsa.gov/press-releases/recall-all-chevy-bolt-vehicles-fire-risk.)

How long have vehicles had trailer hitches? Why do they need a circuit board for something as simple as trailer wiring?

There are times when I miss my 1947 Hudson pickup. I think the entire wiring harness consisted of three circuits -- each of which was protected by a genuine fuse.
