Spent a few weeks with Alexa...

...and not completely hating her. Sound quality for music sort of lacks bass, but I understand there is a way to fix that. And it is convenient.

And I'm not really worried about her listening in - because except for adding plutonium to my shopping list, etc., I generally don't talk in my house.

Right now, have random bluegrass and newgrass playing...

And looking at the "smart use stats" of my new "smart" AC, it is looking like it is going to cost about $20/month over baseline to cool the house to livable during the worst of St. Louis - the old setup would have been over $60/month and that was "marginally livable." With it, I was happy with mid seventies. But this week, with over 100 degree temps, I've had it set at 68, on low fan...

Alexa is just biding her time until the red flag law gets passed.

Hey, bluegrass, and newgrass, are the song of my people. Grew up in Central Kentucky - had one roomie who had played with Ricky, and another who had played with Bill. Me? I carried heavy stuff.

Dolly's on the thing right now.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.
