I don't think she's a stupid person, who would think that the Jackson Hole area represents Wyoming. Either she's really suffering from TDS, and I mean psychological problems, or else she has other stuff up her sleeve for some post political career, or at least a post Wyoming politician career. I see her campaign ducats are mostly from the environs around DC.

No sane person without some agenda would at this point be, "BUTTTTT TRUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMPPPP!"

Voters, especially in states like Wyoming, have other issues on their minds these days.

Primary on Aug 16th so not too far away.  Open primary also so not very limiting.

I figure R voters have changed their priorities in the last two years.  You have to really hate Trump to be on board with everything she has signed onto.

Last I heard, Cheney was requesting D voters to cross over in the primary and vote for her.

And then Democrats got a little reminder that she supports "forced birth." So that won't help.

I would be curious if anyone has documented where that has actually worked.  I hear about it a lot, but just curious about that.

In 1982, rabidly anti-gun Warren Spannaus, the DFL** endorsed Minnesota gubernatorial candidate, lost the D primary to more moderate Rudy Perpich, who went on to win the governor's race. There was a "Dump Spannaus" campaign in the state and a strong move for Republicans to "cross over" in the D primary to vote for Perpich. Despite numerous news stories bordering on the hysterical claiming such crossover votes were "illegal" (they weren't) a LOT of R's did so, and blocked the hoplophobic Spannaus. Crossover R votes in the D primary were credited (or blamed) for his loss.

Funny story - one day Spannaus went to shoot a round of trap or skeet at what was then the Winchester Metro gun club, just to show he wasn't as anti-gun as people claimed. (Yeah, right.)

When he checked in, after paying his fee, he was handed one of the "Dump Spannaus" bumper stickers the club was handing out to customers. And when he was leaving, apparently someone had put a "Dump Spannaus" bumper sticker on his car.

** - DFL designates the Democrat party in Minnesota. They claim it means Democrat, Farmer, Labor, but most people know it stands for Deviants, Flakes, and Leftists, their core constituency. (Some people substitute a different word for Flakes.)
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

As to crossovers, all one needs to do is look at how many Rinos are in office along with those Rs who support D (socialist) policies.  Ie: red flag "laws".

There was a big crossover push here in Idaho for our primaries a few months ago. Both dems and "take back Idaho" an ostensibly "reasonable republican" group, were encouraging dems to temporarily switch parties to get RINOs in. I still haven't seen evidence either way if it worked or didn't. Claims are that around 3500 people switched parties.

I will say that here at least, "take back" is a big lie. I coincidently just saw an interview this morning with one of these "take back" people who was at the state republican convention, where a conservative was chosen to lead the state republican party. The take back guy and the TV reporter were both lamenting that Idaho is getting 100,000 new residents a year and that we need to be welcoming to them and their politics.

*expletive deleted*ck that. If you're coming here, you're doing so because you feel it's better than where you came from. If we become welcoming to the politics people fled from (but still support?!?), then we'll simply become the same kind of rathole.

My thought is that it takes a pretty big effort to make a difference in the other parties' primary so it is fairly rare.

IMO, most RINO's are elected by either moderate R's or R's who don't pay attention to the candidates at all and just vote for the incumbent if it is an R.  More than enough of the latter to keep some of those people in office.  I figure that is most of John Cornyn's voter base.

Yup. A lot of "staunch" republicans think they are doing good voting straight R ticket and incumbents without doing any research on the candidates. If they're already in office with an "R" by their name, good enough.

I didn't know it made it into the gun rags - I was living in PROM (People's Republic Of Minnesota) at the time, and heard it from some people directly involved in the "Dump Spannaus" campaign. I remember seeing more "Dump Spannaus" bumper stickers on cars than all other bumper stickers combined. (Though to be fair, most cars had no bumper stickers at all.)

We have a serial lying Rino who is running for his first re-election in our district for US Congresscritter.  His name is Peter Meijer, part of the Meijer grocery chain.  He is spending scads of money on TV and mail outs.  He brags about being a veteran and a Conservative and he is representing our district as a Conservative.  He voted to impeach Trump and he also voted for the Ds new gun control act that includes telling states if they institute Red Flag laws, .fedgov will give them $$$.  People who know him that I know, say he is a libtard D in disguise.  Sister in Law worked with him a few years back and she says he's a total rich boy arsehole.

There is a fellow named John Gibbs running against Meijer in the R primary.  Gibbs claims to be a Conservative and has Trump's backing.  I'm not sure if Trump's backing will help or hurt him in our district.  It's be R for many years going back to Gerald Ford with only one D for one 2 yr term maybe 30 years ago.  West Michigan has always been R and conservative, but we've had a lot of population growth from elsewhere and they seem to be libtardy

What Cromwell said to Parliament, we say to Cheney...

"It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place,

which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice.

Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government.

Ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.

Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess?

Ye have no more religion than my horse. Gold is your God. Which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?

Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defiled this sacred place, and turned the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices?

Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest grievance.

Your country therefore calls upon me to cleanse this Augean stable, by putting a final period to your iniquitous proceedings in this House; and which by God's help, and the strength he has given me, I am now come to do.

I command ye therefore, upon the peril of your lives, to depart immediately out of this place.

Go, get you out! Make haste! Ye venal slaves be gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.

In the name of God, go!"
