Info about Idaho
« on: March 06, 2005, 12:27:02 PM »
Well, I'm looking to move out of Montana soon, hopefully by May 1. I have been planning on going to Coeur d'Alene, but recently the idea of going to Boise has come up.
So, any info you can give on either of these two cities would be much appreciated. Housing and employment being my two biggest concerns of course. Rentals seem to be cheaper than they are in MT for both.
Any other general info would be appreciated as well.

Edited to add: If anyone nows of any online resources that would be appreciated also.

Where do you live in MT?  I'm in Missoula and have a good friend from Clarkfork by Sandpoint.  I think if I was going to move to Idaho I'd move down south, I prefer deserts to forests most of the time.

I'm open to pretty much any type of work to start out. My past experience has been in customer service(retail and mailorder) and shipping and receiving. I also was a night manager at a local grocery store. I'm currently doing Inventory control.

BenW, thanks for the link.

My mom lives near (NW of) Missoula and we've been to visit quite a few times. My husband (madkiwi) and I really like it there. We've also been through Coeur d'Alene and Boise.  Unlike theCZ, we prefer the trees up North to the more Southern parts of ID. We have been considering buying a business in Montana, preferably around the Missoula area but it still hasn't happened as we haven't found anything that suits our situation yet.  I'm a little surprised that rentals are cheaper in Coeur d'Alene than around Missoula. I really thought that Coeur d'Alene was more the vacation and retirement crowd.

Keep us posted. I'm interested in what you decide on.
